1. Tailor’s Tape (A flexible measuring tape) or a good length of string (You can measure it against a yardstick or a metal measuring tape)
2. Masking or Scotch Tape – Requires about 6 short strips for making reference marks…However, if you happen to have a friend (#6 below) to assist, then you can rely on that person to make sure the marks are correct.
3. Measuring Instructions - print a copy of these instructions and record your measurements as you go so you don’t forget what measurement is for what body part.
4. A Pen or Pencil – Taking notes is a must.
5. A Mirror – The more full length, the better…However, any average one will do as long as you can see yourself from the waist down.
6. A friend - Not necessary, but can be very helpful with some of the measurements…Plus, it makes it fun! We need accuracy to make the best product for you, and we want you to have a great time creating your custom garment!

This is more than handy - If you have doubts about your measurements, you can take these instructions to your local professional (ie. tailor, dry cleaner, department store, etc.) and have them remeasure you just to be sure. |

1. Be honest to yourself (and us) with your measurements. You want the tape to be somewhat snug, but not too tight, and comfortable, but not too loose. Always measure around the fullest part of each body area and keep the tape parallel to the floor.
2. The truer the measurements given, the better fitting your jeans will be. Depending on the fit/style/cut/fabric of your jeans, we will automatically create certain allowances and “room” dependent on your choices so you don’t need to. We will base these off your measurements as the foundation, so we need your measurements to be as accurate as possible. Keep comfort in mind, be true with your measurements, and we’ll deliver.
3. Always measure using the beginning/start of the measuring tape or string.
4. Take measurements over your underwear, leotard, gym shorts or swimsuit - anything thin and form fitting to your body (do not take measurements over regular clothing). In our video references, our model is wearing clothing for discretionary purposes.
5. Use the mirror to your full advantage.
6. Shoes are optional, but if plan to wear the jeans with a pair of shoes you already have in mind, use them so you can achieve the look you want.
7. We’d like the measurements to be in quarter inch (1/4) detail.
8. This is the final step to getting jeans to fit you the way you’ve always wanted and have them look exactly as you wish. Your measurements will be kept in your profile so when you order more jeans, you’ll already have them handy…Have fun! |
